Sturgis ...Ladies Who Ride--Mimi

Its been hard to post while getting plans made and making sure all is nipped and tucked for my ride to Sturgis. Those of you on Facebook see me more often. But for those in the blogging sphere I will posting here too. I am setting up a Smug Mug photo site that allows videos and pictures and an actual base for upload storage. I think the $ are worth it just to keep the pics safe.

For those of you who don't know, I am now a proud owner of the 2010 Street Glide Trike. I will be taking him... yes, I said him... I call him The Beast. I absolutely love it and am so surprised that I do love "a trike" as much as I do this one. I have all the comforts of a Street Glide and can actually NOT worry about any modifications so that I reach the ground. I can tiptoe it backwards if need be, but I don't have to, as it has a reverse. There is power to it that my Softail Deluxe just doesn't have and I can slam on the throttle and have a 6 gallon tank to keep me on the road longer... with cruise control. All the comforts you owners of a Street Glide already know and enjoy and I could only dream of it. Now I got it with The Beast. Nope, Nada, Never will I give up my 2 wheels. My Luvmedu is still being ridden and she always will be. She just now has a big brother. Little Sis Prudanz is now with a new owner.

So..... countdown to my ride to Sturgis is beginning. I am taking a few days to enjoy this great country and meeting family and friends on the way. Making it a good one so I am refreshed to deal with another matter of importance when I get back...a legal problem that I am pursuing and should start on my return... sooooo the ride is going to be a strengthening for me. Riding to Sturgis has a lot to do with just getting away and letting matters get handled by appropriate parties til I am needed. So I am letting that go for a couple of weeks. Perfect timing.

On another note, I met up with Mimi last Sunday at the Ladies Who Ride event. She rode up from San Diego. We really got some time to finally sit and talk to each other. She also traded in her Cleopatra (Nightster) for Endora (a brand new bright shiney red Fat Bob). I really enjoyed our day visit and expect many more. She's adorable. Rhonda at Cooks Corners and Tom (Disco) at Anaheim Fullerton Harley Davidson really did a great job on this event. I know others were involved heavily in this, however, I don't know exactly who... but they deserve helmets off to them too! It gets larger each year and the fundraiser is of great importance to those who have been hit with breast cancer. So a big thank you for a great day on all levels.

Posts and Pics to Come

The Beast looks great. You'll have a blast on your trip. It's nice you got to spend time with the ever pretty Mimi. Her Fatbob is a great ride. Bet she likes her new ride.

I was taking a real close look at the trike at the local shop. Pretty damned sweet. What happened to the Ural? Maybe I missed something...

How does the beast feel when you carving corners? I have never had the pleasure of riding one. Do you have to lean to the outside of the turn instead of leaning to the inside. (Just my old 3 wheeler experience coming back to me.) I really wanna try one out. If they have one on demo day I think I'll take it for a spin!

Have fun on your journey...wish i was going...seriously. I vowed to make this year but life had other plans for me. All good plans though.
