Spring is approaching, whether or not it feels like it, and the rallies are setting themselves up for a robust year. Or are they?
By now, Laughlin River Run is normally set up with concerts and their site is full of events for the offering. As of this writing, nothing. Nothing except for the high priced rooms. I am not planning on going this year to Laughlin as I have in the past. Instead, I am thinking, just thinking, of riding into the Arizona Bike Week instead.
Arizona Bike Week already has a good showing of bands playing, including one of my favorites from the past, Heart. Vendors have been lined up and the website is full of maps and rides.
Considering the recession and the fact that most riders are picking and choosing the rallies and rides these days a lot more carefully, some rallies, unfortunately are going to be a thing of the past, i.e. The Love Ride. Maybe even Laughlin. I don't think people are going to be emptying their pocketbooks to some of these high prices hotels are putting out there. Laughlin's average hotel price for that weekend is a few hundred bucks on the average. The day after the rally, it goes back down to an average of $25.00 per night. Doesn't sound reasonable enough to me.
So, I guess what I am saying is... I am going where the pickin's are better in vendors and music if I am going to put out $$$ for a hotel. Then I can make up some riding I missed that last time, like the Sedona mountains. It is a beautiful State full of colorful mountains and history. Soooo.........Kinda looking forward to it.
The events are starting to roll into gear and I think the decision is which one offers more bang for the buck to pick and choose from. I think so far, for the month of April here in the West, it is Arizona Bike Week. I know a few of you are from Arizona, and if you hear of any interesting rides or happenings during that week, throw them on here for me so I can make a final decision. To go or not to go...
For Now...
Happy Decision Trailzz

My Spring Break is a week early this year and I won't be able to have any days off on Bike Week. But if you are here the weekend before or at the end we would be more than happy to show you some of our favorite roads.
Logan's Run. Charity Poker Run. The final event of Arizona Bike Week!
I was just telling a friend that the Laughlin River Run has been taking a bit of a dive for the last few years and that I didnt think I was going. After reading your post, I emailed her and gave her the link to your blog and told her to consider. We may be rethinking this, thanx to you. Oh, and thanks for putting the links on so I didnt have to look far.
This is such an amazing entry and I love to read more of it so that I will be able to look over and have it as an inspiration for further articles to write about when it comes to updates on motorcycle stuffs and it's pros and cons too. I do hope you will get to visit our official website and let us know what you think about it. Here is the link

Thanks ahead and happy holidays to you and the rest of your family. :)
We hope to make it to Angel City this April as our kick off to Spring. Not sure we'll be able to work it out this year, but I haven't given up yet! Wish I were closer to AZ!
You go... have fun... and report back and share with us sad sacks who weren't there!
Ride on!!
Thanks all! Yes, I have made the reservations and it turns out a lot cheaper than Laughlin's prices, unfortunately too. I like Laughlin, but since I am headed out on a couple of major rides this year, I am picking and choosing which ones to spend money on. This one is the only rally. The other rides are for pleasure and family. :) Ann, I look forward to meeting you! Maricruz, I will be there one day earlier than you and lets talk so we can plan a ride together there!
