So I am back around in Tustin now and are there any Girl Scouts at Ralphs? Nope, not even those guys in white jackets asking for money. I did, however see they had potted flowers out for Spring and so I grabbed a couple for my first plantings in the yard. In the trunk they went.
I am now wondering if the Girls Scouts went internet on their sales of cookies and do I now have to order boxes from the web via paypal so by the time I get them they will be all crunched and smashed up and will only be usable for a pie crust? Nahhhhhh, "no... they are the Girls Scouts". They have to earn their pins and badges and such, and I know they are out there....somewhere. I was told they were. Right? Right.
Ride to Trader Joes. Trader Joes had a busy enough parking lot, but no Girl Scout pins hanging around with yummy Thin Mints. I think they could have made a few bucks there. I did spot some blooming branches outside and had to have some for my kitchen table. So in I went. I was lucky they fit in the trunk... just barely with a little bend here and there, they were in.
Not to be discouraged I rode to Albertsons, and again, the only thing interesting were the 2 men loading money into the safe truck. Parking lot wasn't too busy and I slipped in to buy some bottled water.
Leaving there I realized it was time for my afternoon coffee and the thought of cookies all day had left me craving one. I decided to ride on over to Champagne, a small french bistro that I like. I settled in with my coffee and lemon iced cookie.
While sitting there taking a nice little rest on this beautiful day, I was wondering where all the Girls Scouts were? Don't they want to make money? Then it dawned on me! The Girl Scouts are right where they should be... in school, and its a good thing because now I have so much junk in my trunk there isn't any room for cookies.
Note to self: Read my mail completely. I got a note from Charlotte with a link that shows where and when the Girl Scouts will be selling their cookies. Its called www.abcsmartcookies.com. Next time I will be a smart cookie and use this link... or maybe not.
Happy Ride Quest Trailzzzz

Thin mints rock! Sorry about the "sans GS" day...I t'was a noble quest. If I run across some I will snag a box or two for yah.
However, your post points to much more than just cookies. This is why I ride everywhere. Think about this. If you were to take on this quest in a cage, would it have been as exciting? The bike makes everyday "do's" an adventure.
By the way, you can't fool us with the lack of room in the trunk bit...we know you had no intention of making home with a box...that is why you always chose locations with coffee or milk readily available...yah big fibber!
Those elusive Girl Scouts. You wonder how they sell those cookies, hiding out like they do. I remember when they practically chased you down the sidewalk!! Fun times with the 'zilla!!
LOL you two! I plan on getting them. After looking at the link they are out there working their little hearts out in several locations and one tomorrow where I went today :) I intend on getting a few boxes. I should have known better, beings that it is a School Day!
...and I was wondering, as I was reading, what Holiday Cali kids were out of school for.
Call the Governor and request a cookie holiday....at least that would serve a useful purpose.
Shortbread and peanut butter are my fav's. Wife and rest are mint's.
Working at a Dental Office usually allows us some special delivery. Moms and Dads come in with their GS order in hand, (sometimes I wonder who's the Scout!) lol!
Sounds like you had a nice ride in spite of it, and I know they are awesome... but even Girl Scouts need to go to school. :}
BTW... Thin Mints! (my favorite)
Love the Samoas! You can't eat just one they are so good.
HAHAHAHAHAHAHA! the quest for girl scout cookies continues! and damn now im craving an iced lemon cookie and coffee! :)
